Substance use disorders

Kellie Kennedy, BS, CADC, is a dedicated and passionate Substance Use Disorder (SUD) counselor with over two decades of experience helping individuals navigate the path to recovery. Her career spans prison-based therapeutic community programs, community outpatient services, and problem-solving drug courts, where she has provided both group and individual counseling.

Kellie earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Illinois State University in 2001 and became a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) in 2003. In 2008, she made history as the first treatment provider for the Grundy County Drug Court, a role she continues to support with commitment and expertise. She has attended national drug court trainings annually, staying at the forefront of best practices in treatment and rehabilitation.

Kellie’s passion for SUD counseling is deeply personal. Growing up in poverty with a heroin-addicted stepfather, she witnessed firsthand the devastating consequences of addiction. These experiences ignited her lifelong mission to help others break free from the cycle of substance use and build healthier, more stable lives. She takes a whole-person approach to treatment, addressing not just substance use but also the mental, emotional, and social factors that contribute to lasting recovery. Her extensive experience in the criminal justice system makes her an invaluable advocate for those seeking a second chance.
