Api Mudoh MSW, LSW obtained her dual Bachelor degree in Administration of Criminal Justice and Sociology in 2010 from Bradley University, and Master of Social Work in 2018 from Aurora University. Depending on their individual needs, she uses a variety of evidence- based approaches, such as Mindfulness, Person-Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to help clients. In addition, she continues training in trauma- informed care to help clients develop coping skills to manage symptoms related to their trauma experience. Api has worked with adult individuals and families in a variety of settings: nursing homes, community mental health, hospital psychiatry, and the Veteran Administration.
Api’s clinical experience includes working with individuals who battle various mental health diagnoses such as mood and anxiety disorders, anger issues, individuals with intellectual disabilities/ Autism, self-injurious behavior, grief, and trauma. In her work in an outpatient setting, she provided individual assessments and therapy. Api provides a creative, safe space where individuals can feel comfortable, understood, and secure to express themselves freely, without judgment, while empowering clients to explore through self-discovery and self-awareness. Api is also welcoming of individuals who would like to incorporate their spiritual and/ or religious beliefs into their healing journey and growth process.
Areas of interest include young adults, couples, grief/loss, depression, trauma, and relationship issues.
Api joins the Crossroads’ team May of 2023 and sees clients in the Yorkville location.
